Playbrush Smart is a highly interactive attachment for manual toothbrushes , which measures speed, duration and position to be able to get good brushing feedback. The algorithm is designed in a way that kids brush all around their mouth using an unique reward scheme (medals) makes kids want to come back (regularity).

It is a little bit like magic: You simply place your normal manual toothbrush into the Playbrush Smart gadget and the toothbrush immediately turns into a gaming controller. Now, you can start a Playbrush game on a smartphone or tablet and the Playbrush Smart device connects automatically. Henceforth, your children (and maybe even yourself) will be able to solve fun & instructional challenges whilst brushing their teeth. You will find further information in the Playbrush Smart manual.

Playbrush Smart Sonic as a superstar: The Playbrush Smart Sonic translates brushing movements into playing fun games, evaluates brushing and monitor data over time, measures pressure, position, duration regularity. Playbrush Smart Sonic has 17000 strokes per minute with extra soft indicator bristles. Includes also in-game audio instructions and quick statistics, a medal system and worldwide leaderboards. The Playbrush Smart Sonic is waterproof, of course!

We are building Playbrush for children who are starting to brush their teeth independently. This is because we have seen the biggest problems with 3 to 10 year olds. While our games is designed for children up to 12 years old, we have received great feedback from teenagers, students, young professionals, parents and even grandparents, who all enjoy brushing with Playbrush.

Playbrush Smart and Playbrush Smart Sonic are suitable for ages 3+. If each child has their own toothbrush/ toothbrush head, they can set up their own profile in the apps, and then one Playbrush Smart/Playbrush Smart sonic can be shared by the whole family!

Playbrush Kids App works with iOS *, Android ** and Amazon Kindle Fire devices.

Minimum Requirements:

Apple: 5S/SE / iPad mini 2 / iPad 5 and iOS 10

Android:Android 4.4 KitKat with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Kindle: 4. Generation Kindle Fire HD (2014) and Fire OS 4.

The following devices, despite fulfilling most of the Playbrush minimum requirements, arenot compatible: Wiko, MedionLifetab Tablet & Huawei P8 lite.

Playbrush Smart works with 95% of all manual toothbrush – just pay attention that the handle is not too thick and has no suction cups.

The brush heads have been exclusively designed for playbrush and are available in the playbrushwebshop.

We recommend one Playbrush per child, so that all functionalities of the Playbrush Kids App can be used optimally (e.g. only if each child has their own Playbrush, offline brushing sessions, which take place without using the Playbrush Kids App, can be optimally displayed in the statistics).

To ensure that each family member has their own manual toothbrush and brush head, we recommend that each child has their own Playbrush Kids subscription. Up to 6 player profiles for different children can be created in the Playbrush Kids app.

We strongly believe in using technology for good, like using mobile applications for educational purposes, which we combine with gaming. Often it is possible to shorten screen time somewhere else, to use the limited time for relevant and positive applications. In our opinion, properly caring for teeth and toothbrushing outperforms the 4 min extra screen time per day significantly.

We tested Playbrush with over 300 happy kids before launching, and safety was always the most important aspect. Playbrushis designed and tested for children older than 3 years – using child friendly materials, electronics and size. Of course the product is certified and “Made in Austria and Switzerland”.

You should always be careful when handling electronic devices in wet rooms. There have been no reported problem so far.

However, We also recommend placing tablets or mobile phones on top of the smartphone/ tablets holder.

On the Playbrush Kids App's login page, click on the "Forgot your Password?" and follow the instructions. You will receive an email shortly to reset your password.

You charge your Playbrush Smart by removing the bottom white part, connecting the Micro-USB cable and waiting for it to start flashing red. After about 4 hours, it should stop flashing and stick on red. Your Playbrush Smart is now fully charged!

The Playbrush Smart Sonic comes with a charging Dock and will be fully charged when the light is blue.

You can turn on the Playbrush Smart by shaking it. When its on, the yellow light will blink. If it does not come on or if it flashes a red light), then the battery might be low. Please charge yourPlaybrush and it will be ready to use again a few hours.

Press the button to activate the Playbrush Smart Sonic until the blue light show off.

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone but do not actively pair Playbrush with your phone in the phone’s settings! Just open one of the apps, make sure Playbrush is active (the light is blinking) and wait for a few seconds. If Playbrush does not connect automatically, press the Connect button on the menu screen.

Launching the app, shaking your Playbrush Smart/Pressing the button on the Playbrush Smart Sonic until the light blinks and Playbrush is just not connecting?

Please check the following to successfully connectPlaybrush with your smartphone/tablet:

* It is important to not actively pair your smartphone/tablet with Playbrush in the smartphone’s bluetooth settings since Playbrush is connecting automatically in our games.

* If you are using an Android Phone or Tablet with Android 6.0, please make sure that you are granting location permissions to our apps. See the question “How to enable location permissions in Android 6.0?” on how to alter location permissions.

If you are still having troubles connecting your Playbrush, please try the following:

1. Deactivate Bluetooth

2. Uninstall the app(s)

3. Restart smartphone/tablet

4. Install the app(s)

5. Activate Bluetooth (but don’t actively pair Bluetooth with Playbrush)

6. Activate Playbrush

7. Open the app(s) and Playbrush will connect automatically

Google has changed location settings permission requests for the Android 6.0 operating system. If access to location settings is denied for an app, Bluetooth does not work. So when launching a Playbrush app for the first time, when you are asked to grant permission to access location settings, you must do so.

If you have not been asked or have already denied permission, you can alter location permissions in your settings.

Just follow the below steps:

1. Open up settings

2. Scroll down to Application

3. Open up Application Manager

4. Select the game

5. Click on Permissions

6. Ensure location is turned on

Playbrushis designed and tested to be waterproof and using it is similar to using an electric toothbrush. However we cannot guarantee for any damage caused by water – so we recommend not using it in the bathtub or shower.

During testing with hundreds of children we experienced no smartphone handling problems at all. Still, a mobile device is often at risk when being used. Therefore, we offer the Playbrush Smartphone Holder – a case for using mobile devices in the bathroom. This keeps your smartphone or tablet safe and stable while playbrushing.

We now have 12 playbrush games + the brushing coach, one of the games is a multiplayer (Utoothia Dance).

Playbrush games are available for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices. Just go to the App or Play Store, search for “Playbrush Kids App” and you will find our games.

You can find details about your child’s brushing performance in the “Statistics” page of each game. Just select the your Child’s character, and click the stats button on the menu scene. You can also upgrade to more detailed brushing stats with the data monitoring app for parents.

o advance to a new level in the Utoothia games (except Utoothia Sky), all medals must be collected in each level. If you click on the medal, a window will appear explaining the medal and the progress in more detail.

Endurance Medal: Your child must brush their teeth twice a day (morning and evening). If, for example, 0/2 is displayed, this means that you have not brushed twice a day in this level. You need to clean 2 days & twice a day (in some games these days have to be consecutive, otherwise the progress counter starts again).

Top inside / bottom inside / left outside / right outside: Your child must clean this side for a certain number of seconds.

Regularity: Your child must brush his or her teeth at least once a day - the necessary days must be consecutive.

Accuracy: A certain number of seconds per side must also be achieved here.

Performance: In Utoothia a certain number of Crobiesmust be stopped.

Consistency: Here you have to clean at the right speed for at least 60 seconds on consecutive days.

Skill (only in Utoothia Paint): All 4 pictures per chapter have to be painted to get this medal.

Our brush heads with special super soft InterDent+ bristles have exclusively been developed for Playbrush Smart One. Playbrush Smart One is not compatible with other brush heads.
